Responsibilities

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to the Sales Activities of the Smart Biometrics Business Unit. The Sales Engineer will report directly to the Sales Engineering Director and Sales Director (dotted) with guidance and direction coming from the Regional Sales Manager to facilitate sales, revenue growth, and ensure customer satisfaction. The Sales Engineer will support Texas to Florida and Virginia.

  • Assist the Regional Sales Manager in promoting the capabilities of the IDEMIA products during customer meetings.
    • Provide in depth technical knowledge of the IDEMIA software and hardware solutions to answer questions raised during the meeting.
    • Follow up after the meeting on any points or questions that could not be answered during the meeting.
  • Actively participate in IDEMIA product demonstrations at customer meetings and trade shows.
    • Set up the IDEMIA products prior to the demonstration and trade shows.
    • Conduct technical demonstrations of IDEMIA software and hardware solutions.
  • Assist System Integrators and/or End Users during Proof of Concepts.
    • Work with the System Integrator and/or End User prior to the proof of concept to understand the requirements of the proof of concept including what will define a successful Proof of Concept.
    • Train the end users and/or system integrators on the IDEMIA products used in the proof of concept.
    • Provide technical support on the IDEMIA products during the proof of concept.
    • Report back to the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Engineering Director the progress of the Proof of concept.
  • Train IDEMIA Partners, System Integrators and Consultants.
    • Create technical training modules for the IDEMIA online training platform.
    • Promote the IDEMIA online training platform.
    • Face to face or remote training of IDEMIA’s direct partners and system integrators.
  • Support the Regional Sales Manager in key projects to define the system architecture.
    • Collaborate with the System Integrator and End User to understand the project requirements.
    • Identify the IDEMIA products which best fit the project requirements.
    • Define the required architecture to meet the End User requirements.
    • Act as the technical voice of the customer to identify and articulate key evolutions of IDEMIA products and solutions to the Product Management Team.
  • Develop awareness of our competitors products and understanding their strengths and weaknesses. Report required product evolution to our Product Management Team to meet market demands and market evolutions.
  • Work closely with Support, Product Management, and Sales to escalate technical issues which impact End User operations and track the issue to resolution and delivery to the End User.
  • Provide a weekly report of activities to the Sales Engineering Director.

Qualifications

Required

  • Must have significant experience in sales engineering or in a technical position with a strong customer focus/interaction in the physical access control industry
  • Bachelor's or master's degree (IT/Electronics Engineer)
  • Good understanding of networks and information technology
  • Understanding of relational databases, configuration thereof, and basic database scripting skills (MS SQL)
  • Fluent in English, additional regional languages a plus

  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to communicate issues and solutions
  • Must be proactive to identify and anticipate client (end user customers/system integrators) needs and make recommendations for implementation
  • Must have experience in working collaboratively with business partners to effectively resolve problems

  • Must be available and willing to travel
