Responsibilities

Job Summary: The Lean Manufacturing Expert is responsible for leading and managing the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies and practices within the manufacturing operations of the company. This role involves strategic planning, implementation, and optimization of digital manufacturing initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and competitiveness.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy Development:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive Manufacturing 4.0 strategy aligned with business objectives.
    • Identify and prioritize opportunities for automation, data analytics, IoT (Internet of Things), AI (Artificial Intelligence), and other Industry 4.0 technologies.
  2. Implementation Oversight:
    • Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation of digital manufacturing initiatives.
    • Ensure seamless integration of new technologies with existing systems and processes.
    • Monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve project goals.
  3. Operational Excellence:
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven insights and analytics.
    • Optimize manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
    • Implement predictive maintenance programs and real-time monitoring systems to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  4. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Build and develop a high-performing team of engineers, technicians, and specialists.
    • Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to enhance technical skills and foster innovation.
    • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the department.
  5. Technology Evaluation and Vendor Management:
    • Evaluate new technologies and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Collaborate with external vendors and technology partners to source and implement solutions.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness.
  6. Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
    • Implement cybersecurity measures to protect manufacturing data and systems from potential threats.
  7. Communication and Stakeholder Management:
    • Communicate progress, challenges, and achievements to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with other departments (such as Engineering, IT, Operations) to align Manufacturing 4.0 initiatives with overall business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing operations management, with a focus on Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, robotics, IoT platforms, AI applications, and data analytics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of leading successful cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in strategic planning, project management, and change management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
  • Certification in relevant Industry 4.0 technologies or project management (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).

Working Conditions:

  • Full time on site position
  • May require occasional weekend or evening work to support project implementations or troubleshooting.
