Responsibilities

This position has the responsibility of overseeing accounting close responsibilities for US, LATAM & Canada. This position will be a true leader in driving change, process improvement and leadership across the PSNA (Public Security North America) Accounting team. This is a busy hands-on business support position that seeks a motivated individual who takes initiative in their work and has a flexible ‘can do’ attitude to supporting multiple tasks. Experience in a similar role is essential.

 

The candidate must possess cross-functional skills interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Key Objectives

  • Oversee all Finance accounting activities in North America – US, Canada and LATAM – developing a regional center model to be operated out of US
  • Liaising with External Auditors in interim and year end financials
  • Drive process improvements working cross-functionally across finance and accounting
  • Train and lead career growth of direct reports
  • Engage on IPS Global Projects – and be the lead on anything impacting North America and LATAM – such as streamlining processes, deploying new tools, and migrating ERP.

Accounting Activities

  • Ensure financials are closed as per the close calendar with sufficient review and analysis
  • Balance sheet reconciliations are maintained and reviewed
  • Support one off accounting transactions – implementing policy and procedures working cross functionally 

Compliance

  • Provide leadership for country specific issues falling within their region
  • Providing local controller with support
  • Statutory and internal/external audits
  • Ensure compliance to internal control framework

Regional Country Management

  • Ensuring compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards (local GAAPs)
  • Manage CoE performance, SLAs for region
  • Manage team at local country level building robust regional support
  • Managing local finance vendor relationships (consultants, tax, etc.)
  • Finance owner of ERP solutions based in region and country (outside of D365 / SAP B1)

Leadership

  • Invest time in the finance & accounting teams to cross collaborate and grow careers
  • Manage and guide team

Qualifications

Academic & Work Experience

  • CPA Qualification (or equivalent)
  • At least 10 years of experience
  • Multiple ERP Experience (D365 and Great Plains would be great)
  • Strong understanding of the best in class finance practices and processes
  • Technical Accounting knowledge of IFRS
  • Functional / PMO Finance project experience (e.g deploying new tools / ERP implementation)

  • Excellent decision making and problem solving ability
  • Strong project management skills & organizational skills are must with a sense of urgency to all tasks set.
