Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the Senior Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for leading the Public Security North America HR team and ensuring the effective performance of all facets of HR including business partnering, employee relations, systems and payroll, and compliance. You will design, implement, and evaluate HR strategies, programs, and activities to support organizational goals. You will consult with business leaders on strategic direction and critical priorities. You will serve as a thought partner, advocating for people and enhancing work culture and experience for all employees.

 

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with the business leaders and their teams to understand their objectives and add value by identifying HR-related opportunities to maximize business performance.
  • Providing guidance and input on talent and performance management, leadership and organizational development, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Presenting regular, data-driven analysis of HR functions to the CPO along with recommendations to address areas requiring improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations and adopting key federal, state, and local regulatory changes.
  • Working with the general counsel in investigating and resolving employee concerns and/or complaints, bringing best practices in investigation and documentation and ensuring equity in resolution.
  • Fostering a healthy, learning culture that encourages knowledge sharing, feedback, and continuous growth.
  • Supporting and driving initiatives and efficient processes in close alignment and coordination with Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, and other global HR partners and CoEs.
  • Motivating, coaching, and mentoring HR team members and cultivating a positive and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

As an ideal candidate, you will possess many of the following qualifications:

  • Previous Director of Human Resources or equivalent senior-level position – with 15+ years of progressive, local and international HR experience and 10+ years in management in a fast-moving environment and comparably-sized organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and influence with the ability to provide clear and meaningful instructions, guidance, and counseling to stakeholders and maintain a positive outlook even during challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote collaboration and address the evolving needs and expectations of a multi-generational workforce.
  • A hands-on leader, willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
  • Ability to set high ethical standards for integrity, honesty, respect, teamwork, and accountability, inspiring the team to the highest levels of commitment, dedication, and effort.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience in ADP and SuccessFactors preferred.
  • A degree from an accredited college or university.

  • The role requires the ability to be available during non-core work hours to accommodate operations in various time zones.
  • Travel up to 25%.
