Responsibilities

Basic Function:

  • Coordinate and purchase materials and services not requiring a subcontract.
  • Receiving purchase requisitions, ensuring accuracy, pursuing competitive quotes, issuing purchase orders, tracking purchase order status
  • Reporting purchasing status to management and internal customers to develop priority to ensure timeliness of delivery, expediting, preparing
  • Execute purchase orders through the full life cycle and support other supply chain management activities and projects, as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate purchasing activities across multiple product lines to acquire material or services in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions, obtain quotes for final purchase order submission
  • Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities to include long term agreements and implementing creative strategies to reduce lead time.
  • Maintains accurate records of all procurement actions, in compliance with company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible to ensure that suppliers meet targets for quality, delivery, and total cost of acquisition of the products and services the company requires.
  • Participates in the development and creation of process improvements.
  • Plans and executes purchases orders as required by direction of management. This includes obtaining purchase order acknowledgements from suppliers, complete purchase order data entry, change orders, amendments, and other related documentation.
  • Maintains a positive and professional approach and addresses multiple objectives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Training of new procurement employees on Idemia actions and system requirements
  • Excess & Obsolete inventory management
  • Review monthly forecasts for proper material procurement and delivery
  • Manage global inventory requests for export and import of material
  • Open PO management and supplier reviews to ensure on time to requests and deliveries
  • Back up and support to manager
  • Reconciliation of POs for supplier and/or accounts payable support
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Required: 4+ years of professional experience in supply chain/procurement or related fields, to include logistics, project, or business management

 

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain and Purchasing Policies, Processes and Procedures.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop an understanding of company practices and procedures
  • Ability to generate quantitative improvements in supplier delivery, quality, and costs is very desirable.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret RFQ’s, supplier contracts, and understand engineering processes.
  • Must be proactive and have a sense of urgency with ability to think ahead of potential problems while demonstrating an aptitude for process improvement.
  • Advance skills in and proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
  • The successful candidate must be assertive and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven exceptional communication skills, both written, verbal and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, as well as program and executive management, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.
