Responsibilities

IDEMIA is seeking a dedicated and proactive MES Key User to support and optimize the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at our Exton, PA manufacturing facility. As the local application owner, you will work closely with shop floor users, production control, and ERP stakeholders to ensure effective MES utilization and to drive continuous improvement aligned with operational goals. 

This role is critical in maintaining smooth shop floor operations and contributing to strategic process enhancements through the smart application of MES tools and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Local System Ownership: Serve as the primary MES point of contact for the Exton manufacturing site, overseeing day-to-day operations, issue resolution, and functional support. 
  • Troubleshooting & Escalation: Investigate MES-related issues on the shop floor and coordinate with D365 key users, IT, and MPDV (vendor) for timely resolution. 
  • Process Documentation: Develop and maintain standard work instructions, process flows, and system documentation aligned with IDEMIA operational standards. 
  • Training & Support: Deliver MES training to end users and assist management in conducting user assessments to ensure consistent system use and knowledge. 
  • Data Integrity & Reporting: Monitor the accuracy and completeness of production data in MES and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to management. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the CI team to implement corrective and preventive actions (QRCI – Quick Response Continuous Improvement) related to MES and shop floor performance. 
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage open support tickets with MPDV in USA, track progress, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders. 
  • Change Management: Lead the creation and execution of Change Requests (CRs) for MES process enhancements and customization. 
  • System Evolution: Partner with Exton IT and MPDV to test and deploy configuration changes, system upgrades, and new functionalities to support business growth. 
  • Project Support: Contribute to the implementation of MES, which includes Machine Data Integration (MDE) and automation enablement. 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in managing MES systems within a manufacturing environment. 
  • Hands-on experience in MES implementation, integration with ERP systems (experience with Microsoft D365 is a strong plus). 
  • Familiarity with other manufacturing tools and systems such as WMS = Warehouse Management Software, SCADA = Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. 
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written). 
  • Basic knowledge of databases; ability to write and interpret simple SQL queries or willingness to quickly learn. 
  • Solid understanding of business processes related to planning, scheduling, and optimization. 
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
