Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

- Lead and manage a team of cloud platform engineers and specialists
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
- Conduct performance reviews and support career development initiatives
- Foster a collaborative environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with other engineering teams

 Strategic Planning & Operations

- Develop and execute cloud strategy aligned with business objectives
- Oversee capacity planning and resource allocation for cloud services
- Establish and maintain cloud governance policies and procedures
- Drive adoption of best practices in cloud architecture and security
- Lead vendor management and relationship building with AWS and other cloud providers

Cloud Infrastructure Delivery

- Oversee deployment of new cloud infrastructure projects
- Manage preparation of environments for service delivery
- Ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
- Coordinate with stakeholders on infrastructure requirements

Project Management & Financial Oversight

- Lead project labor and cost estimation processes for cloud and related services
- Implement and oversee FinOps practices for cost optimization
- Manage budget planning and resource allocation
- Provide regular reporting on project status and financial performance

Cloud Operations Leadership

- Oversee support of existing infrastructure and issue remediation processes
- Ensure high availability and performance of cloud services
- Manage incident response and problem resolution procedures
- Implement monitoring and alerting strategies

System Integration & Customer Support

- Manage customer environment configuration and delivery support
- Oversee integration projects and technical implementations
- Ensure customer satisfaction and service level agreement compliance
- Coordinate with customer success teams on service delivery

Security & Compliance Management

- Oversee cloud security vulnerability monitoring and remediation programs
- Ensure compliance with government security standards and regulations
- Manage security audits and assessments
- Implement and maintain security best practices across all cloud services

Optimization & Continuous Improvement

- Lead cloud infrastructure and cost optimization initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement in service delivery processes
- Manage technology evaluation and adoption decisions
- Oversee performance tuning and capacity optimization efforts

Qualifications

Experience & Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering
- 3+ years of management experience leading technical teams
- Proven track record in AWS cloud services and architecture

Technical Skills

- Deep expertise in AWS services and cloud architecture patterns
- Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Understanding of FinOps principles and cost optimization strategies

Leadership & Communication

- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working with government clients and understanding of compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Security & Compliance

- Experience with government security standards and compliance frameworks
- Understanding of identity and access management principles
- Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations
- Experience supporting security audits and assessments

Preferred Qualifications

- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security)
- Experience with identity management systems and civil identity solutions
- Government contracting experience
- CISSP, CISM, or other relevant security certifications
- Experience with agile project management methodologies
