Responsibilities

Company Overview

IDEMIA Road Safety, part of IDEMIA Public Security, is a global leader in the road safety enforcement market. We design and deliver innovative solutions built on decades of expertise in image acquisition and processing, video analytics, software applications, roadside hardware, and enforcement systems.

Our technologies support governments worldwide in keeping their citizens safe through advanced roadside speed and red-light enforcement systems, as well as mobile and fixed devices connected to large-scale back-end processing platforms.

As IDEMIA expands into the US market, we are seeking a motivated, independent, and technically skilled Field Support Engineer to support our deployment and customer operations in the United States, with a focus on the East Coast region

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and autonomous Field Support Engineer to act as IDEMIA’s technical ambassador in North America, supporting the roll-out of our systems alongside our partners and clients
This position combines hands-on fieldwork, customer support, diagnostics, training, and project coordination, while managing relationships with local clients and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in electronics, electromechanical systems, or industrial field service, excellent communication skills, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Working closely with IDEMIA’s engineering and operations teams in France, you will ensure the successful deployment, maintenance, and technical support of our radar systems across the region
The role requires high autonomy, mobility, and professionalism, as it operates largely independently within the US time zone.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients and partners in the US and Canada, providing both on-site and remote technical support for roadside speed and red-light radar enforcement systems
  • Your work will include diagnostics and troubleshooting of software and hardware issues, while coordinating with IDEMIA’s R&D and operations teams in France to escalate and resolve complex challenges
  • You will manage relationships with clients, partners, and suppliers, ensuring seamless communication, collaboration, and customer satisfaction
  • The role includes participating in the deployment, integration, and field testing of IDEMIA’s enforcement solutions, conducting technical training sessions for client field teams and operators, and managing local spare parts and logistics for maintenance operations
  • You will prepare project updates, technical findings, and performance reports, provide on-site supervision during deployments, and travel regularly across North America, typically once or twice per month
  • The position includes a one-month onboarding program in France and ongoing participation in two to three technical workshops per year

Qualifications

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will be a US citizen, fluent in English, with French language skills considered an advantage
  • You will demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, and customer interaction abilities, and bring an entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • You will be based on the US East Coast, with flexibility to travel across North America
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience is required in field service, maintenance, or deployment of electronic or electromechanical systems, ideally with experience in software development or technical project management
  • A strong foundation in C++ and Python is essential, alongside solid knowledge of electronics, IP networking, and embedded systems
  • Experience in embedded systems, video or image processing, or hardware/software integration is a plus, as is proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with international teams
  • A valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United States are required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the traffic enforcement, smart mobility, or public safety technology sectors will be an advantage, along with familiarity in hardware/software integration, remote diagnostics, and image-based systems
  • You should be confident producing technical documentation, delivering training, and managing operational logistics in field deployment environments
  • Previous experience collaborating with international teams or providing remote technical support will be highly valued

What We Offer

  • Joining IDEMIA offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in our US and Canada expansion, contributing directly to global road safety and smart mobility innovation
  • We provide comprehensive onboarding and technical training in France and the Middle East, exposure to world-class radar and imaging technologies, and ongoing professional development through global workshops
  • The role comes with a competitive salary, performance-based incentives, and a dynamic, flexible working environment within an internationally recognised technology leader
