Responsibilities

IDEMIA Civil Identity is seeking a strategic and experienced attorney to join our legal team, supporting our business operations through providing pragmatic legal advice and negotiating a variety of complex commercial agreements. This role is pivotal in advising internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal and corporate matters, including employment, risk management, commercial transactions, intellectual property, real estate, regulatory compliance, and more.


As part of a growing legal team, you will collaborate closely with the General Counsel to serve cross-functional departments (e.g. Finance, Human Resources, Operations, and Purchasing) and ensure legal initiatives align with business objectives. You’ll also play a key, visible role in building our legal operations by improving standard agreements, leading selection and implementation of a new contract management system, and providing guidance on emerging legal risks to senior executives.

 

Strategic Legal Leadership

  • Partner with the General Counsel to serve as a legal advisor to business unit leaders across the U.S.
  • Deliver pragmatic legal counsel that balances risk and business impact in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Partner with internal departments including Purchasing, Program Management, Business Growth, Finance, and Compliance to evaluate and mitigate legal risks.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory obligations.

Employment Law Guidance

  • Support HR with legal input on personnel matters including performance, investigations, separations, and compliance with federal/state employment laws.
  • Help shape and enforce internal employment policies and practices.

Contract Drafting, Interpretation, & Negotiation

  • Partner in the response to government RFPs related to the company’s product offering.
  • Prepare and negotiate a broad spectrum of commercial agreements, especially those related to technology, services, and vendor relationships.
  • Contribute to the optimization of contract templates and process efficiencies.

Intellectual Property Management

  • Assist with the maintenance of company’s IP portfolio.
  • Support brand protection strategies and IP enforcement activities.

Regulatory Monitoring & Compliance

  • Stay informed concerning industry regulations, applicable state and federal legislation, and provide guidance on compliance initiatives.
  • Assist in interpreting regulations, responding to inquiries, and updating internal policies to reflect changes in the legal landscape.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $170,000 - $180,000/yr + bonus+ benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited institution and membership in at least one State bar (Required).
  • At least 5-8 years of legal experience, with a preference for at least 2–3 years serving in an in-house counsel role.
  • Experience working in regulated industries or government contracting is preferred.
  • Strong contract negotiation and interpretation expertise.
  • Proficiency in handling employment law matters and supporting HR-related legal issues.
  • Experience working with IP matters.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice to senior leaders.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing cross-functional legal initiatives independently.
