Provides support to professional employees working in an organizational function related to the intern's area of study. Learns organizational processes and procedures. Contributes to assigned projects and may assist with the development and maintenance of documentation or records. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Can support Technical or Non-Technical fields or programs. Must be enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a college program.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial for interacting with employees at all levels, handling confidential information, and articulating policies clearly.
Organizational Skills: HR interns must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HR management software are important for data entry, report generation, and document management.
Interpersonal Skills: The ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with HR professionals and other departments is essential.
Problem-Solving Skills: HR interns should be able to identify issues and provide effective solutions, particularly in administrative tasks.
